Commission Complete

After building up the impasto areas and putting in a glaze-like veil in parts of the water that seeps from the edge where cliff and sand intersect there was another passage that demanded attention. The lower area required rubbing with a smooth cloth almost burnishing the sand with orange semi transparent paint to make the sand appear to glow slightly reflecting land and in a formal sense balance the composition.

The title for this oil on linen, 116 x 58 cm is The Elements at Point Roadknight. Now installed by its happy owners on a wall that looks toward Eagle Rock at Aireys Inlet.
